Emily Flowers is a Certified Advanced Rolfing® Practitioner who has trained at the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado.

Emily was raised in Cambridge, MA, by a single mother on welfare, along with her two older brothers. She attended the public school system through high school (Cambridge High and Latin) and did regular volunteer work at the local Red Cross in Harvard Square. 

After graduating from high school in 1967, she did what a lot of young adults where doing in the USA at that time; she was off to see America! Emily never considered herself to be a “hippie,” but looking back, one would have to say, “well, maybe she was (is). “ There was one main social cause, “STOP WAR!”

In the mid ‘70s Emily began to realize there was a possibility she could actually further her education, and by 1979 she was enrolled in college, receiving her BA from Boston College in 1984, with a focus on Philosophy and Women’s Studies.

After graduation from college, Emily worked in retail management, and was the CEO of a health and comfort footwear company, when she received a gift certificate for a massage. The massage therapist suggested that she receive something called “Rolfing®.” She had never heard the term before and let it slip from her mind until later that week, when, over breakfast with friends, she heard it again. It wasn’t until, yet later the same week, she heard the term yet again, Emily said enough and sought her first Rolfer.

At the ripe, young age of 47 Emily decided to make a career change from retail management to preventive health care provider. She set her eyes on being set-up in her office by the time she was 50 and opened her first office in Clearwater, FL just before her fiftieh birthday! In 2002 Emily moved from Florida to a small rural community in Titusville, PA.

Emily has always been what one might consider a “late bloomer,” but when she blossoms it is always an exciting time for her and those in her life. She completed her Advanced Rolfing Training through the Rolf Institute in May 2009, and became certified as a Rolf Movement Practitioner in October, 2010.
